5.11 Audible Signals Description and How to Reset
Alarm and trouble condition audible signals are listed below in priority order.
Condition Speaker Sound Bell Sound How to Silence/Reset
Fire Alarm Rapid high-low siren sound.
Each high-low sound lasts
approximately one half-
second.
1 second on, one second off.
Note: This is programmable
through bell cadence
option. (See Section 6
Table 6-4 for Bell Ca-
dence Options)

Note 1:When you reset a fire alarm, displays and speakers shut down while the alarm is resetting (approximate-
ly 42 seconds to allow smoke detectors to reset). During this time the system will not respond to fire
zones (this does not apply to zones programmed as fire contact). If the alarm condition is still present
after the reset is completed, the displays and speakers will reactivate. See Section 4.16.1 for smoke
detector compatibility information.
When you reset an alarm in a 24-hour non-fire zone, speakers and displays shut down for five sec-
onds. If the alarm is still present after five seconds, the speakers and displays will reactivate.
