6.3 Programmable Options
The options in this section are listed and organized in the order that they appear on the 5580
software screens.
6.3.1 System Devices List
Use this menu to edit options for the panel or dialer and to add/edit options for the following
system devices: Zone expanders (Models 4815 and 4825), serial/parallel module (Model
4824) or Status Output Module (Model 4880N-750-SDB).
6.3.1.1 General System Options Screen
When you choose to edit the “482x Panel” from the System Devices List menu, the program-
mable options shown below are available to change. These options are also available from the
4821/4820 System SubMenu screen.

Bell Test on Power
Up
When this option is enabled, there will be 2 seconds of intrusion
alarm tones at all speakers and the bell output every time the
system is powered up.

Automatic DST
Adjustment Enabled
Select this option if you want to enable the automatic daylight
savings time feature.
Daylight savings time adjustments occur on Sundays. The time is
adjusted forward on the first Sunday of April and backward on the
last Sunday of October. Both changes occur at 2:00 a.m.

Bell Module Installed Select this option to enable supervision of the 4884Bell Module,
and the bell output.
Note: Must be enabled to comply with Commercial fire DACT
UL 864 and NFPA 72 Chapter 4.

Call Back Enabled If this option is enabled, the panel will call the computer back any
time an up/download is requested.
If this option is disabled, the panel will proceed with the up/
download request immediately. The panel will not call the
computer back.

Down-loading When
Armed
If this option is enabled, you can perform regular uploads and
downloads while the system is armed. (Do not select this option in
UL installations.) All areas will be disarmed after the download is
complete.
